Hot Wire the Footsteps of Your Ancestors

Moms, Dads, Grandparents, want to entertain a teenager this summer? This class at the John C Campbell Folk School is during Intergenerational Week. It combines cutting edge technology with traditional crafts in a fun way.

Hotwire the footsteps of pioneers. Connect drop spindles and treadle loom projects with LED lights and conductive thread. Spin your own yarn, weave a scarf or make your own bag with traditional tools, and then bring your weaving back to the future by using the latest in fashion technology. Absolutely no soldering, engineering degrees, or Lamborghinis required.

First weaving coming off the loom always gets a picture and lots of admirers.
